Bay Fishing Seasons

While mangrove snappers are available year-round, the cooler months (November through March) bring Spanish mackerel and sea-trout into the shallow waters. Summer months focus more on snappers around the mangrove structure.

Bahia Honda State Park and the surrounding waters offer some of the most scenic and productive fishing in the Middle Keys. The old Bahia Honda Bridge structure creates exceptional habitat, while the nearby flats and channels hold abundant gamefish.

The bridge pilings and structure attract tarpon, especially during spring and summer months. Schools of tarpon stage around the bridge, providing exciting sight-fishing opportunities.
