The backcountry waters around Marathon offer protected fishing when ocean conditions are less than ideal. These shallow mangrove areas are home to a variety of species and provide excellent fishing year-round.
Bay Fishing Seasons
While mangrove snappers are available year-round, the cooler months (November through March) bring Spanish mackerel and sea-trout into the shallow waters. Summer months focus more on snappers around the mangrove structure.

Every trip is customized to your preferences and the current fishing conditions.
How long are your fishing trips?
Our standard trips are 4 hours, which provides plenty of time to reach productive fishing grounds and enjoy great action. We can also arrange half-day (6 hours) and full-day (8+ hours) trips for anglers wanting extended time on the water or targeting specific species that require more travel time. The 4-hour trip is our most popular option and perfect for families, first-timers, or anyone wanting a taste of Florida Keys fishing without committing a full day.
How much does a charter fishing trip cost?
Our 4-hour reef fishing trip is $750 for up to 6 anglers, making it an excellent value when split among a group. This price includes all fishing equipment, tackle, bait, ice, fishing licenses, fish cleaning, and professional instruction from Captain Izaak King. Half-day and full-day trips are priced accordingly. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season (December through April), to secure your preferred date and time.
